Cartier Tank Chinoise Pink Gold - SOLD
When we talk about shaped watches, we quickly think of Cartier, which is probably the reference in this field. Louis Cartier has always embraced the idea of creating watches with a unique, original design that is always recognizable among the others.
The first Tank was created in 1917 : a square/rectangular watch that looks like a tank seen from above.
The design of the Tank Chinoise dates from 1922, and has the subtle difference of having its brancards that are inspired by Chinese porticos. This gives it a precise identity, especially since it is a model that was produced in small series and that we don't see often.
The model presented here is in 18ct pink gold, with two brancards that are factory-set with diamonds. This provides a sublime contrast with the horizontal brancards in pink gold. The dial is in its classic Cartier configuration: opaline, with black Roman numerals, and blued sword hands. The cherry on the cake is the diamond set in the crown, which stands out from the traditional blue sapphire cabochons.
